200 exceptional National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members have been granted automatic federal public service positions by President Bola Tinubu, along with postgraduate scholarships and ₦250,000 apiece. At a ceremony in Abuja, the honorees—who served from 2020 to 2023—were acknowledged.
Additionally, ten ex-corp members with physical disabilities received scholarships and jobs. Reiterating his administration’s dedication to youth empowerment, Tinubu, accompanied by Minister Nkeiruka Onyejeocha, commended the honorees’ sacrifice, discipline, and patriotism.
“Your discipline, commitment, selflessness, teamwork, patriotism, and integrity have set you apart”, the minister said.
“The Head of the Civil Service of the Federation and the Chairman of the Federal Civil Service Commission will immediately begin your employment process.”
NYSC DG Brig.-Gen. Y.D. Olakunle Nafiu and Minister of Youth Development Ayodele Olawande praised the President’s youth-friendly policies, which include the recent increase in NYSC allowance from ₦33,000 to ₦77,000.
“Each outstanding honouree here today exemplifies the very best of what our youth can achieve. Their positive character and commitment have made them true role models, inspiring others nationwide” Olawande stated
“This decision reflects our recognition of the vital role youth play in nation-building ,” he continued.
