Alhaji Muhammad Sani Sami Goma II, the Emir of Zuru, has passed away. Following a brief illness, the monarch passed away on Saturday night at a hospital in London.
In a statement released on Saturday, Abubakar Dustin Mari, the Kebbi State Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, said that the late Emir of Zuru passed away in a London hospital following a brief illness.
According to him, the late emir left behind seven children and four wives.
“We regret to inform you of the passing of the Emir of Zuru, a brave traditional leader”, he wrote. ” The state government prays to Allah to grant his family the strength to cope with the loss and sends its condolences to his immediate family, the Zuru emirate, and the entire Kebbi state population”.
The Commissioner said that as the Kebbi Government grieves, funeral plans will be made public shortly.
