The Federal Executive Council’s (FEC) extended special session has been rescheduled by the Federal Government in remembrance of the late President Muhammadu Buhari. The new date for the meeting is Thursday, 17th of July. The session will begin at 5:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers of the Presidential Villa in Abuja, the government has announced.
After the late president’s third-day prayer at his home in Daura, Katsina State, the special FEC meeting will take place, it was added. For the prayers, a group of cabinet ministers and vice president Kashim Shettima are already in Katsina.
The leadership of the National Assembly, including the Senate and the House of Representatives, the judiciary, and members of the late president’s family, will attend the expanded FEC meeting, according to Rabiu Ibrahim, Special Assistant (Media) to the Minister of Information and National Orientation.
Additionally, the Federal Government declared that the National Mosque in Abuja will now host a special prayer session on Friday, July 18, in remembrance of the late President.
A special church service will be held in his honor on Sunday, July 20.
