The Awujale of Ijebuland, Oba Sikiru Kayode Adetona, has joined his ancestors.
The 91-year-old monarch passed away on Sunday, just hours after his longtime friend and former president Muhammadu Buhari’s passing was announced.
After taking the throne on April 2, 1960, Adetona ruled for more than 60 years, making him one of Nigeria’s longest-serving traditional leaders.
