Spain defeated Germany 1-0 in the Women’s Euros final on Wednesday night thanks to a goal from Aitana Bonmati deep into extra time. In the final moments before a penalty shootout, Bonmati’s cross-shot narrowly missed the net. Before the game’s deciding goal in the 23rd minute of extra time, the match had ended goalless after ninety minutes.
This Sunday’s final will be a rematch of the 2023 World Cup final between Spain and England.
The Three Lionesses will try to defend the trophy they took home from the previous European Championship.
Despite winning the World Cup, “La Roja” will be participating in their first Euro final. In the 2023 World Cup final between the two teams, Spain defeated England 1-0 in Sydney, Australia.
