President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has sent his deepest sympathies to Ghana’s President John Mahama and the country’s citizens in the wake of the sad helicopter crash that killed six individuals and two senior cabinet officials.
Among others, Ghana’s Environment Minister Ibrahim Murtala Muhammad and Defense Minister Edward Omane Boamah perished in the crash.
According to reports, the victims were on official duty at the time of the deadly tragedy.
President Tinubu said the Nigerian government and people are with Ghana at this time of sorrow in a condolence message released yesterday by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga.
The statement read, “President Bola Ahmed Tinubu extends his deepest condolences to President John Mahama, the government and people of Ghana following the helicopter crash that claimed the lives of Defence Minister Edward Omane Boamah, Environment Minister Ibrahim Murtala Muhammed, and six others”
The Ghanaian people and the families of the deceased should find comfort in the fact that the victims died while doing patriotic duties, the Nigerian leader said, calling the tragedy a “deep national loss.”
