Aminu Tambuwal, former governor of Sokoto State, says he is committed to defeating President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 election. He described the opposition coalition’s plan as a national consensus, not a regional agenda.

“I am fully involved in a democratic and lawful process to end this government,” Tambuwal said. “With God’s help, Nigerians will send them out of office.”

He dismissed claims that the coalition is a northern plot. “Is Peter Obi from the North? Is Aregbesola not from Osun State?” he asked. Tambuwal said the coalition aims for a constitutional transfer of power on May 29, 2027.

Challenging Tinubu’s incumbency, Tambuwal accused the government of failing Nigerians. “It is not cast in stone that he will win. Tinubu can be defeated. I believe so, and I am working with coalition leaders to achieve it,” he said.

The coalition includes political heavyweights such as Atiku Abubakar, Rotimi Amaechi, Rauf Aregbesola, and David Mark.
