Olasijibomi Suji Ogundele, founder of Sujimoto Luxury Construction Limited, has denied the EFCC’s allegations of fraud. He argued that project delays and financial setbacks; not fraud, caused disputes with the Enugu State Government.

The EFCC declared him wanted for alleged money laundering and diversion of funds. Ogundele responded in a video released Friday, insisting he was not a fugitive. “I’m not a thief. This is a contract between my company and the Enugu State Government,” he said.

The Sujimoto CEO explained that rising costs, including cement prices jumping from N7,000 to N10,000, affected delivery. Inflation, staffing shortages, logistics, and foreign exchange fluctuations also worsened the situation.

He noted that while 42 engineers worked on the projects, some tasks were outside the company’s experience, and equipment challenges caused further delays.

Ogundele said legal disputes with the state government damaged his reputation and business, though he remained committed to completing the projects. Security issues in some neighborhoods, he added, made progress even harder.
