Nollywood actress Opeyemi Aiyeola clarified reports about Ibrahim Chatta’s loss after claims that he had lost his biological son. She addressed the matter on her verified Instagram page, urging the public to understand the situation.
Over the weekend, several media outlets reported that Chatta lost his son after he posted an emotional tribute on Instagram. In the message, he wrote, “Inna liLlahi wa inna ileyhi rajiun. Ya Allah, You are the Knower of all things. Rest on Dear Son. Champ.”
However, on Sunday, Opeyemi Aiyeola explained that the late child was his godson, not his biological son. She added that the boy was still like a son to him, making the grief deeply personal.
“May his pure soul continue to rest peacefully… It’s been an extremely emotional ride so far. God have mercy,” Aiyeola wrote.
The actress also prayed for comfort and strength for the grieving family and urged compassion during this painful period.
