Joao Pedro’s goal sealed a 1-0 victory for Chelsea over Tottenham at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Saturday, ending his nine-game scoring drought.

The Brazilian striker struck in the 34th minute after Moises Caicedo won possession, blasting the ball into the top of the net. It was Pedro’s first goal since August 30 and his third since joining from Brighton for £60 million.

Chelsea have now won three of their last four Premier League matches and sit fourth in the table. Tottenham remain third on goal difference but continue to struggle at home, where they haven’t won since August.

Despite some strong saves from Guglielmo Vicario, including efforts from Joao Pedro and Pedro Neto, Spurs’ poor form under new manager Thomas Frank persisted. Fans grew frustrated as the team again lacked attacking creativity.

Before halftime, Chelsea keeper Robert Sanchez denied Mohammed Kudus, while Pedro and Enzo Fernandez both missed chances to extend the lead. Rodrigo Bentancur’s reckless tackle on Reece James, which earned only a booking, summed up Tottenham’s frustration.

The defeat deepened Spurs’ home troubles, while Enzo Maresca’s side continued their steady rise up the Premier League standings.
