FIFA World Cup 2026 African Playoff Set for Morocco

The Confédération Africaine de Football (CAF) has officially confirmed the location and schedule for the FIFA World Cup 2026 African Playoff.

The mini-tournament will determine the final African team to qualify for the 2026 FIFA World Cup. Rabat, Morocco, will host the playoff from November 13-16, 2025. Four nations; Nigeria, Gabon, Cameroon, and the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DR Congo), will compete for the coveted slot.

Organizers scheduled the semi-finals for Thursday, November 13, 2025, at the Prince Moulay El Hassan Sports Complex and El Barid Stadium.The exact venues for each match will be decided by a draw on October 30, 2025.

The confirmed fixtures are: Nigeria vs Gabon and Cameroon vs DR Congo.

The final will take place on Sunday, November 16, 2025, at the Prince Héritier Moulay El Hassan Stadium.

The winner will advance to the FIFA Inter-Continental Playoff in March 2026, where they will fight for Africa’s tenth and final spot in the FIFA World Cup 2026, co-hosted by the United States, Mexico, and Canada.

This playoff marks the last hurdle for one of these four countries to join Africa’s already qualified teams on football’s biggest stage.
