Nigerian rapper Blaqbonez, whose real name is Emeka Akumefule, has revealed that he is open to the idea of an open marriage. The artist shared his views during a recent appearance on the podcast In My Opinion.
Blaqbonez explained that his stance stems from a realistic view of long-term relationships. He said most couples experience a natural decline in intimacy over time.
“I do not mind having an open marriage. Most married couples, you do not keep having the same amount of sex you were having at the beginning,” he said.
He added that his career demands; such as touring and performing, often limit his availability, making an open arrangement practical.
“If somebody is satisfying her sexually while I am hustling and touring, that is okay. There is more to marriage than sex,” he explained.
The rapper emphasized that emotional connection matters more than exclusivity.
“I do not mind that you are sleeping with someone else provided you are dedicated to me,” Blaqbonez said.
“It will be difficult for a random person to match what I have built with her, mentally or emotionally.”
He concluded by saying he values personal space in relationships.
“If I am even going to get married, I need two rooms. Me and my wife will only meet when we want intimacy,” he stated.
