The UEFA Champions League 2025 draw has set up mouthwatering fixtures for all six Premier League clubs. Nigerian football fans can expect thrilling nights of European football.

The standout story for Liverpool fans is Trent Alexander-Arnold’s return to Anfield with Real Madrid. The England defender will face Liverpool after leaving for the Spanish giants this summer.

Liverpool, six-time winners of the UEFA Champions League, will also play Atletico Madrid, Inter Milan, Eintracht Frankfurt, PSV Eindhoven, Marseille, Qarabag, and Galatasaray.

Manchester City face a tough path. Pep Guardiola’s side will battle Borussia Dortmund, Bayer Leverkusen, Napoli, Villarreal, Bodo/Glimt, Galatasaray, and Monaco. They also meet Real Madrid away.

Chelsea’s campaign looks daunting. They will play Barcelona at home and Bayern Munich away. The Blues also face Benfica, Atalanta, Ajax, Napoli, Pafos, and Qarabag.

Arsenal meet Bayern Munich at the Emirates in a key clash. The Gunners, back in the UEFA Champions League with newfound hope in their new striker, Viktor Gyökeres, will also face Inter Milan, Atletico Madrid, Olympiacos, Slavia Prague, Kairat Almaty, Athletic Bilbao, and Club Brugge.

Tottenham, fresh from Europa League success, face Paris Saint-Germain away and Borussia Dortmund at home. Their schedule also includes Villarreal, Frankfurt, Slavia Prague, Bodo/Glimt, Copenhagen, and Monaco.

Newcastle United return to the competition with glamour ties. They will host Barcelona at St. James’ Park and travel to Paris to play PSG. The Magpies also face Union SG, Benfica, Leverkusen, PSV, Marseille, and Athletic Bilbao.

The UEFA Champions League 2025/2026 uses a new 36-team league system in its second season. Each team plays eight matches: four at home and four away.

The top eight clubs progress to the round of 16. Teams ranked 9th to 24th contest a play-off. Any side finishing 25th or lower exits Europe with no Europa League fallback.

The group stage kicks off on September 16, 2025, and ends in January 2026. The final takes place in Budapest in May 2026.
