Tuesday delivered a dramatic Champions League night packed with goals, drama, and heartbreak. Victor Osimhen stunned Liverpool, Harry Kane kept Bayern Munich’s flawless run alive, and Jose Mourinho suffered defeat on his Stamford Bridge return.

Galatasaray shocked Liverpool with a 1-0 win in Istanbul. Victor Osimhen scored the only goal from the penalty spot in the 16th minute. Baris Alper Yilmaz won the contentious decision after a challenge from Dominik Szoboszlai.

The Nigerian striker, who had missed a penalty against Alisson Becker in the past, converted with calm precision. Liverpool struggled again, even after Arne Slot benched Mohamed Salah and record signing Alexander Isak.

Alisson kept them in the match before injury forced him off. Substitute Giorgi Mamardashvili denied further damage. Liverpool thought they had earned a late penalty when Clement Turpin pointed to the spot after a foul on Ibrahima Konate. VAR overturned the call. Lucas Torreira nearly sealed the win in stoppage time, but his shot went wide.

Liverpool sit on just three points from two games. Their Champions League season under Slot is already under pressure.

Harry Kane continued his incredible form as Bayern Munich defeated Pafos 5-1 in Cyprus. The England captain scored twice, taking his tally to 17 goals in nine games. Nicolas Jackson also struck, netting his first for Bayern since joining on loan from Chelsea.

Raphael Guerreiro added a goal, while Michael Olise capped his strong display with a late finish. Mislav Orsic briefly lifted Pafos fans with their first-ever Champions League goal, a thunderous strike before halftime.

Bayern dominated throughout, hitting the woodwork three times. With nine wins from nine, they are enjoying their best start in 13 years.

Jose Mourinho’s emotional return to Stamford Bridge ended in defeat as Chelsea beat Benfica 1-0. Richard Rios’s own goal in the 18th minute sealed the result.

The home crowd gave Mourinho a warm welcome, chanting his name for the manager who delivered three Premier League titles in two spells. But his Benfica side failed to find the net, despite chances from Vangelis Pavlidis and Dodi Lukebakio.

Chelsea goalkeeper Robert Sanchez was outstanding, keeping the Blues ahead. Despite Joao Pedro’s late red card, Enzo Maresca’s side held on for a vital win.

Maresca praised his squad, calling it a “timely response” after poor results. Mourinho, still without a win at the Bridge since leaving in 2015, left frustrated by the first loss of his Benfica reign.
