In the Agboyi-Ketu and Bariga Local Council Development Areas (LCDAs), Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has officially opened legacy projects, assisted by the council chairmen. Hon. Dele Osinowo, the council chairman, assisted Sanwo-Olu in launching the Otunba Bushura Alebiosu Multipurpose Building, Agboyi Community Primary School, Agboyi Ketu ICT Hub, Oba Taiwo Adesegun Lamina Sport Center, and a four-road network at Agboyi-Ketu LCDA on Friday.

The Hon. Kolade Alabi-led government also helped the governor commission a legislative chamber, 21 road networks, five primary health centers, three newly constructed primary schools, and one fire station in Bariga LCDA.

The governor praised the chairmen of the councils for providing grassroots citizens with the benefits of democracy. According to him, his administration would keep helping the council administration carry out wonderful initiatives for the public.

The 57 councils in Lagos State, according to Sanwo-Olu, have complete autonomy from the state government. He said that several local governments have been able to implement significant projects because they have consistently received their whole allotment free from state intervention.

“As we formally commission these initiatives, let this achievement resound across every corner of Lagos; this administration’s work is ongoing and relentless. From Bariga to Badagry, from Ikorodu to Epe, we are steadfastly building a Lagos that delivers and a Lagos that works for all its people.”

He called on the next administrations to pick up the mantle and surpass their soon-to-be predecessors. citizens of the two LCDAs as well as Lagos citizens in general were asked by the governor to preserve and repair public infrastructure.

He advised, “Use them well, care for them diligently, and make sure that they remain vibrant centres of your community life for many years to come, and I assure you that the government will continue to invest in you and your community. To achieve this, I ask for your active involvement through your ideas and determination so that we can sustain this progress”

Osinowo referred to the projects in his statement as his farewell presents to the local populace for entrusting him with the leadership role for eight years. Osinowo urged the residents of Agboyi-Ketu to back her just as they did for him to succeed, expressing faith in the upcoming council administration headed by Mrs. Adetola Abubakar.

Speaking as well, Hon. Alabi claimed that his government had carried out the initiatives in order to enhance people’s lives on a local level. Alabi declared that some streets, such as Community Road, which is now Babajide Sanwo-Olu Road, would be renamed in honor of notable people who had influenced the neighborhood.
