Petr Čech, the former goalkeeper for Chelsea and Arsenal, has declared his separation from his wife, Martina, following 26 years of marriage. With a touching Instagram post and a black-and-white picture of Martina kissing him on the cheek, the 43-year-old football legend broke the news.

Čech wrote, “Martina and myself are sad to announce that we are separating after 26 years together.” “We remain best friends and immensely proud of our two children.”

The couple got married in June 2003 after meeting as teenagers in 1999. They have two kids, Adela, 17, and Damian, 16.

Adela, a defender, is a member of the Czech Republic’s Under-17 squad. She was born in January 2008, but Čech was away with Chelsea for a League Cup semi-final match against Everton, where he did not play.

Damian, like his father, recently inked his first professional contract as a goalkeeper with Fulham.

Petr Čech had a remarkable football career after a £7 million move to join Chelsea from Rennes in 2004. In 494 games, he helped the Blues win four Premier League championships, four FA Cups, three League Cups, and the 2012 UEFA Champions League. Before retiring in 2019, he added another FA Cup to his collection after moving to Arsenal in 2015.

In addition to playing goalie in ice hockey since he retired from football, Čech was Chelsea’s technical and performance advisor until 2022, when Todd Boehly took over the team.
