In contrast to circulating rumors, Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke has denied rumors that he defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC) and reaffirmed his affiliation with the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Governor Adeleke told his fans and followers that he is still a member of the party. The governor, who reiterated his focus on carrying out the administration’s five-point strategy, asked the people of the state to disregard false information while committing to continue delivering democratic dividends and good governance.
In the meantime, Osun State’s ruling party has refuted reports that Governor Adeleke may soon dump the PDP or its political structures to the APC.
According to PDP state chairman Hon. Sunday Bisi, the rumor was obviously planned by uneasy opposition members, who described it as a last-ditch effort to divert Osun State residents’ attention from Adeleke’s progressive change.
“We understand the tension and anxiety these rumours have generated among our teeming members, supporters and stakeholders. Let it be firmly stated that the PDP remains intact, cohesive, and more committed than ever to the renewed mission of rescuing and rebuilding Osun State.”
“Those peddling the lie of decamping are merely rejected politicians and agents of retrogression, who are terrified by the growing popularity and performance of Governor Adeleke, despite their continued attempts to derail the people-centered progress being made, it should be emphasized that The PDP is still intact, cohesive, and more committed than ever to the renewed mission of rescuing and rebuilding Osun State.”
“Additionally, let people know that the PDP administration continues to be open and inclusive in accordance with its open-door policy” He concluded.
