Niger State Governor Umar Bago Dissolves Cabinet

Niger State Governor Umar Bago has dissolved his cabinet. He made the announcement on Monday during the state executive council meeting at the council chamber in Minna.

The governor’s press secretary, Bologi Ibrahim, confirmed the development in a statement. He said Bago retained his chief of staff, deputy chief of staff, secretary to the state government (SSG), and other top aides.

Niger State Governor, farmer Mohammed Umaru Bago, has dissolved his cabinet,” Ibrahim said.

“The farmer governor announced the decision during the State Executive Council meeting at the Council Chamber, Minna. He appreciated members for their service to the state and wished them success in their future endeavours.”

This is not the first time Niger State Governor Umar Bago dissolves cabinet members. In July 2023, he terminated all political officeholders appointed before May 29, 2023.

He also disbanded parastatals, boards, and statutory commissions.
