Kamala Harris, the former US vice president and 2024 Democratic presidential candidate, has announced the upcoming release of a memoir titled 107 Days, which chronicles her brief yet historic presidential campaign.
Published by Simon & Schuster, the book is scheduled for release on September 23, 2025, in the United States.
“Just over a year ago, I launched my campaign for president of the United States; 107 days, traveling the country, fighting for our future,” Harris said in a video posted on social media. “It was the shortest presidential campaign in modern history.”
Harris became the Democratic Party’s nominee after Former President Joe Biden dropped out of the race in July 2024 due to concerns over his cognitive health. Despite a passionate campaign, she ultimately lost to Donald Trump in the general election.
Describing the book as written with “candor and reflection,” Harris promises a behind-the-scenes account of her campaign journey and personal insights from that intense period.
Harris had largely stepped back from public view following her election loss. However, she has recently resurfaced, sparking speculation about a potential 2028 presidential bid. She confirmed she would not run for California governor in 2026.
The former senator is also scheduled to appear on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, marking a notable return to the national spotlight. The show, however, has recently been canceled by CBS due to financial constraints and corporate restructuring.
CBS’s parent company, Paramount, has been embroiled in controversy, including a $16 million settlement over a lawsuit tied to a 2020 60 Minutes segment involving Kamala Harris. The timing of the settlement closely preceded Paramount’s $8 billion merger with Skydance Media.
President Donald Trump commented on Harris’s upcoming book, sarcastically saying, “I think I’m going to buy it. I’d love to see it.” He added, “She can’t talk. She can’t do an interview. It was a very strange campaign.”
In related news, Karine Jean-Pierre, former White House press secretary under Biden, also announced her upcoming memoir titled Independent. Jean-Pierre recently left the Democratic Party, citing betrayal by party leadership.
