Newcastle United are close to completing the signing of Burnley goalkeeper James Trafford, according to transfer news specialist Fabrizio Romano. The final details of the agreement are being finalized, with a deal announcement expected soon. Romano shared on X (formerly Twitter) that Newcastle plan to conclude the deal imminently, noting that a full agreement with Burnley is nearly secured and a “here we go” confirmation is anticipated.
In Germany, Bayer Leverkusen have successfully signed U.S. international Malik Tillman from Bayern Munich. A verbal agreement has been reached between both clubs and the player, with the total transfer fee reportedly in the range of €35–40 million. Tillman has agreed to a long-term contract, while Bayern Munich have included a buy-back clause as part of the deal.
Meanwhile, Manchester United have tied down one of their most promising academy players, Jayden Ngwashi, to a new four-year deal. The 16-year-old rejected interest from several English and European clubs to stay at Old Trafford as part of the club’s long-term development strategy.
In North London, Thomas Partey has officially left Arsenal following the expiration of his contract. The Ghanaian midfielder’s exit had been planned for over a week, with Romano confirming that Arsenal are now set to replace him with Brentford’s Christian Nørgaard, who is expected to join the Gunners soon.
Elsewhere, Turkish side Fenerbahçe have made significant progress in their pursuit of Aston Villa striker Jhon Durán. Talks continued into Sunday, and the deal is reportedly nearing completion. The move would end speculation about Durán joining Saudi Pro League outfit Al Nassr.
Al Nassr, however, are also making transfer news headlines. Jorge Jesus is set to become the club’s new head coach this week. The appointment is part of a broader restructuring within the Saudi Arabian club, with Romano hinting at a significant management overhaul, calling it the beginning of the “Al Nassr revolution.”
