The Federal Ministry of Education has implemented a fully computerized admissions procedure for Federal Unity Colleges in Nigeria. A statement issued on Tuesday by Boriowo Folasade, the Director of Press and Public Relations, stated that the initiative’s goal was to improve capacity management, efficiency, and transparency in secondary school placements.
Folasade stated that the Education Minister, Dr. Maruf Tunji Alausa, is leading the reform to make sure admissions match each school’s authorized capacity and to solve previous problems with overcrowded facilities.
”The initiative, driven by the Minister of Education, Dr. Maruf Tunji Alausa, ensures that all admissions are now fully automated and strictly conducted within the approved capacity of each school, eliminating previous challenges of overstretched facilities,” she said.
“The reform guarantees fairness, operational efficiency, and sustained quality in our Federal Unity Colleges,” according to the release.
For Junior Secondary School One, 80 traditional Federal Unity Colleges are included in the current entrance cycle. A subsequent announcement will be made on admissions to the 42 Federal Technical Colleges that are part of the Technical and Vocational Education and Training program.
Hajia Binta Abdulkadir, the director of senior secondary education, called the automation a “game-changer,” pointing out that it improves accountability, expedites the process, and creates better learning environments by matching admissions to school capacities.
She said, “The new system ensures that admission aligns with each school’s capacity, creating a better learning environment for students.
“This reform is expected to streamline the admission process, improve accountability, and uphold the highest educational standards across Federal Unity Colleges nationwide”
Parents and children can view results on the ministry’s official website, the post continued.
The Ministry reiterated its dedication to provide all Nigerian children with high-quality education in secure, comfortable settings.
