Grammy-winning singer Wizkid is “sick” of Ayra Starr every time she tries to make him laugh, according to the award-winning singer. Speaking in an interview on the eTalk show, Ayra Starr said that in addition to being a fantastic artist, Wizkid is also a hilarious friend who frequently gets caught up in her playful behavior.
“Wizkid is an amazing friend and am amazing person to be around,” she remarked. “I could learn so much from him. He’s hilarious and we have the same humour, so he’s always sick of me because I try to make him laugh or something.”
Their friendship hasn’t always been this way, the “Rush” crooner said, adding that she was really anxious during their first studio session together because she felt intimidated by Wizkid’s legendary status.
But as their time together has increased, she claimed to have come to value his laid-back demeanor and sense of humor.
“During my first session, I was panicking because it was Wizkid. But now we’ve done our music video together and I’m older. He’s always telling me how much I’ve grown” she said.
“He’s such an amazing artist and having such an icon working with me shows how much of an amazing artist I am…I had to sneak that in,”
The two musicians have worked together on a number of projects, such as their most recent single, “Gimme Dat,” which has received positive reviews from fans.
