Super Falcons captain Rasheedat Ajibade has disclosed that the team has not yet received the $100,000 reward that was promised to them, along with other promises made by the Federal Government, after they won the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) in Morocco.

Ajibade provided an update on the promises in an interview with media personality Chude Jideonwo, asking, “Have they delivered the $100,000?”

The skipper replied, ” We have not received our money, but hopefully, it would be paid. They have not paid, all the promises, we have not received anything”

The Super Falcons won the WAFCON championship in Morocco under Ajibade’s leadership, setting a new record. After the victory, President Bola Tinubu awarded the team and their technical staff the national honor of Officer of the Order of Niger (OON).

A three-bedroom apartment and $100,000 were also given to each player by the president.

As he welcomed them to the Presidential Villa, Tinubu hailed the players’ “indomitable spirit of resilience, determination, and courage” and called their victory a landmark for Nigeria.
