The African Democratic Congress (ADC), led by Mustapha Inuwa, the state’s coalition leader, welcomed hundreds of supporters from Katsina’s Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), All Progressives Congress (APC), and New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) on Sunday. All decampees, regardless of gender, were given membership cards, which were distributed throughout Katsina State’s 34 LGAs.
Lawal Batagarawa, the state’s national representative of the National Political Coalition Group, spoke at the ceremony at the Continental Event Center and criticized the startling increase in poverty, inflation, insecurity, and the depreciation of the Naira.
According to Batagarawa, numerous industries have failed since Bola Tinubu’s administration began in 2023. In order to combat terrorism, banditry, poverty, and illiteracy in the nation, he emphasized the importance of unity among citizens, party members, and supporters. He also expressed confidence that the party would prevail.
Usman Musa Wamba, the Chairman of the ADC’s Katsina State Chapter, is confident that the party will perform well in the upcoming general elections in 2027. In order for the electorate, particularly the younger generation, to benefit from democracy, he also called for increased support.
Aliyu Saulawa, the former National Coordinator of the Bola Ahmed Tinubu Movement in Nigeria and Director of Media for the Buhari Campaign Organization, was one of the decampees who once held an APC card. He attested that the APC has utterly failed to fulfill the promises it made to the people during the campaign, particularly in the North.
He insisted that the party has not achieved even one percent of what it campaigned for in the recent elections.
“Without security, there is nothing like livelihood, and if you look at the Northwest, we are peasant farmers and merchants, and definitely if we lack security, we virtually lack everything, including the educational system that is collapsed, honestly, I cannot continue to remain in APC,” he added.
He maintained that the party has not even come close to fulfilling its campaign promises in the most recent elections.
“There is nothing like livelihood without security, and if you look at the Northwest, we are peasant farmers and merchants. Without security, we basically lack everything, including the collapsed educational system. To be honest, I cannot continue to be in APC,” he continued.
