President Bola Tinubu has appointed new Service Chiefs to strengthen Nigeria’s security structure. The announcement came through a statement released on Friday by his Special Adviser on Media and Public Communication, Sunday Dare.
The statement, titled “Tinubu Changes Service Chiefs,” detailed the reshuffle across the nation’s military branches.
General Olufemi Oluyede now serves as the Chief of Defence Staff, replacing General Christopher Musa. Major-General W. Shaibu takes over as Chief of Army Staff, while Air Vice Marshal S.K. Aneke becomes Chief of Air Staff. Rear Admiral I. Abbas assumes the role of Chief of Naval Staff, and Major-General E.A.P. Undiendeye remains the Chief of Defence Intelligence.
President Tinubu praised the outgoing officers for their service and commitment to national security. He urged the newly appointed chiefs to demonstrate professionalism, vigilance, and unity in leading the Armed Forces.
All appointments take immediate effect, reinforcing Tinubu’s commitment to strengthening the country’s defence and security systems.
