Olumode Samuel Adeyemi, the Deputy Controller-General (DCG), has been appointed by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as the Federal Fire Service’s (FFS) next substantive Controller-General, with effect from August 14, 2025. In a statement released in Abuja on Wednesday, AM Jibril Maj. Gen. (Rtd.), secretary of the Civil Defense, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB), announced the appointment.
He pointed out that the appointment comes after the incumbent Controller-General, Engr. Abdulganiyu Jaji Olola, would retire on August 14, 2025, when he becomes sixty.
After moving from the FCT Fire Service to the Federal Fire Service and rising to the position of Deputy Controller-General of Fire at the Service Headquarters’ Human Resource Directorate, Adeyemi brings a plethora of expertise to his current position.
The officer has completed all required in-service training, command courses, and other courses both domestically and abroad during his tenure. In addition to serving in a variety of roles, he is a member or fellow of the following professional associations: the Chartered Institute of Treasury Management of Nigeria, the Institute of Corporate Administration of Nigeria, the Institute of Public Administration of Nigeria, and the Association of National Accountants of Nigeria (ANAN).
In the statement, the Board thanked retiring Controller-General Engr. Abdulganiyu Jaji Olola for his outstanding contributions to the Federal Fire Service’s growth, as well as for his devotion to the service and the many projects he led while he was employed.
