Former Deputy Governor of Ekiti State and ex-Senate Minority Leader, Senator Biodun Olujimi, has cautioned that the political strategy used by Peter Obi during the 2023 presidential election will not yield results in 2027.
Speaking on Channels Television’s Politics Today, Olujimi dismissed the notion that the Labour Party candidate could mount a formidable challenge to President Bola Tinubu’s re-election bid using the same approach.
“The rhetoric of the last election will not work again, except he comes with another gimmick. Tinubu is a politician, a man who knows the terrain well,” she said.
Olujimi also took aim at former Ekiti Governor Ayodele Fayose, accusing him of ruining the PDP in Ekiti through autocratic leadership and divisive tactics.
“Ayo Fayose killed the PDP in Ekiti. He alienated those who built the party, imposed candidates, and fostered divisions,” she stated.
She noted that internal party crises, lack of transparent internal processes, and self-serving ambitions led to the mass defection of loyal members and loss of voter confidence in the PDP.
Olujimi, who recently stepped back from partisan politics, said any hopes of reviving the PDP in Ekiti are dim without a fundamental shift in leadership style and internal party discipline.
