Operation Safe Haven (OPSH) has arrested a man, Musa Ali, for impersonating a member of the security outfit and defrauding a family of ₦400,000.

In a statement released Saturday by OPSH Media Information Officer, Major Samson Nantip, Ali allegedly posed as a serving OPSH operative and deceitfully collected the money from the family of a notorious gunrunner under investigation. He claimed he could halt the probe and secure the suspect’s release.

The fraudulent act was uncovered by Operation Safe Haven operatives, leading to his arrest. Major Nantip stressed that OPSH does not take money or any form of gratification to release suspects or stop investigations, reiterating the outfit’s zero-tolerance stance on corruption.

“All suspects arrested by OPSH are investigated in line with legal procedures to ensure justice and peace across the Joint Operations Area,” Nantip stated.

The suspect will face prosecution after investigations are concluded. OPSH urged the public to remain vigilant against fraudsters claiming influence over its operations.
