The Ogun State Police Command has apprehended two suspects linked to the murder of a Chinese national, Chen Wang, who was brutally stabbed to death in his office earlier this year. The suspects, identified as Yunusa Abdullahi, 25, from Borno State, and Peace Keno Danlami, 20, from Taraba State, were arrested on July 14 in Jos, Plateau State, after weeks of coordinated surveillance.

Chen Wang, an employee of WH Great Resource Ltd. in Ogere, Ogun State, was found dead on January 12, 2025. He had sustained fatal stab wounds to the chest, sparking immediate concern and prompting a full-scale investigation by the police.

According to a statement released on Tuesday by the Force Public Relations Officer, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, and shared by the Ogun State Command spokesperson, CSP Omolola Odutola, the breakthrough came after a meticulously coordinated, intelligence-driven operation. The Nigeria Police Force Technical Intelligence Unit was deployed to work alongside the Ogun State Criminal Investigation Department at Eleweran to provide critical operational and technological support.

Investigations revealed that the suspects, who were both factory workers at WH Great Resource Ltd. and allegedly romantically involved, took advantage of reduced staffing on the day of the crime. While on overtime duty, they reportedly disabled the company’s security system, gained unauthorized access to the office of the Chinese National, and carried out the fatal attack. They then stole the keys to his residence, burglarized the home, and fled the state with stolen cash.

The duo was eventually tracked and arrested in Jos, where they were hiding under false identities. Their arrest was made possible by the police’s deployment of advanced digital forensics, biometric analysis, and human intelligence tools.

Inspector General of Police, Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, praised the Ogun State Police Command and the Force Technical Intelligence Unit for their professionalism and dedication. He reaffirmed the commitment of the Nigeria Police Force to safeguard both citizens and foreign nationals through proactive and precision-led investigations.

The suspects are currently in custody and will be charged in court upon the conclusion of ongoing investigations.
