May Agbamuche-Mbu, a National Commissioner of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), has assumed the role of Acting Chairman.
The transition follows Professor Mahmood Yakubu’s formal handover of responsibilities as he begins his terminal leave.
INEC announced May Agbamuche-Mbu’s appointment during a stakeholder meeting with resident electoral commissioners on Tuesday at the commission’s headquarters in Abuja.
According to the announcement, she will oversee the commission’s activities and maintain continuity in election-related operations during Yakubu’s absence.
