The Apple Awe Dropping Event takes place tonight, September 9, with the iPhone 17 lineup expected as the main highlight. Alongside new iPhones, Apple will announce updates to its wearables and audio products.

Reports suggest Apple will discontinue four models after the iPhone 17 launch: the iPhone 15, iPhone 15 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro, and iphone 16 Pro Max. The company aims to streamline its catalog so every device sold supports Apple Intelligence features, though phased-out models may remain available through independent sellers.

Apple typically keeps previous-year standard models at reduced prices. This means the iPhone 16e, introduced earlier this year to replace the iPhone SE, may remain the most affordable option. The iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus could also stay in the lineup.

At the Apple Awe Dropping Event, Apple may also retire the Apple Watch Series 10, Apple Watch Ultra 2, and Apple Watch SE (2nd gen). In audio, the AirPods Pro 3 could replace the AirPods Pro 2, though Apple may keep the older model at a lower price.

In total, Apple is expected to discontinue three Apple Watch models, four iPhone models, and one AirPods version. The company has a long tradition of simplifying its product lineup after launching new generations.

The Apple Awe Dropping Event will stream live from Apple Park. Viewers can watch on Apple’s events website, the Apple TV app, or directly on Apple’s YouTube channel, making it accessible worldwide on multiple devices.
