Taraba State Governor Agbu Kefas has signed the Taraba 2025 Supplementary Budget worth ₦143.42 billion into law. The signing followed the recent approval of a ₦14.68 billion virement by the State House of Assembly.
The supplementary budget will remain effective until May 31, 2026. Governor Kefas said the fiscal plan aims to reduce inflation impacts and exchange rate pressures on ongoing state projects. It also seeks to meet urgent funding needs in key areas such as infrastructure, economic development, and security.
“The additional funding will allow the state to accelerate strategic development projects, realign spending with the Medium-Term Expenditure Framework (MTEF), and respond to emerging economic and security challenges,” he said.
With the revised approval, the total Taraba 2025 Supplementary Budget now stands at ₦574.8 billion. Of this, 31.1% covers recurrent expenditure, while 68.9% goes to capital projects.
Governor Kefas emphasized that his administration will ensure accountability, transparency, and timely release of funds to achieve the budget’s objectives. He noted that the supplementary plan strengthens Taraba’s commitment to sustainable growth and responsible governance.
