The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Ondo State Sector Command, has disclosed the arrest of 15,145 traffic offenders across the state between January and July 2025.
The Sector Commander, Samuel Ibitoye, revealed that the violators committed 15,536 offences, ranging from seat belt violations, use of phones while driving, riding without crash helmets, to overloading and number plate violations.
“We don’t just go to book people, we also provide safety advice and run advocacy campaigns to change dangerous attitudes on our roads,” Ibitoye said.
He noted that speeding remains the leading cause of road crashes and deaths in the country. He urged motorists, especially commercial drivers, to install speed limiting devices for improved safety, reduced fuel consumption, and vehicle longevity.
“If Nigerians don’t take road safety seriously, they risk their own lives and those of others. Value your life and preserve it,” he added.
The FRSC reiterated its commitment to maintaining a daily presence on major roads, not only to enforce traffic laws but to educate drivers on safe driving practices and arrest traffic offenders.
