The management of Fresh FM Nigeria has confirmed that on Friday night, a fire destroyed the company’s head office in Challenge, Ibadan. The station said in a statement late Friday, which was signed by Samson Akindele, Group Head of Corporate Affairs at Fresh FM Nigeria and Yinka Ayefele Limited, that the fire outbreak had impacted important facilities, including the studios of Blast 98.3 FM and Fresh 105.9 FM.

According to the statement, the fire caused significant damage after spreading to nearby offices, including the newsroom, transmitter/server room, and other essential broadcasting equipment.

According to the management, staff members’ first attempts to extinguish the fire using their own extinguishers were unsuccessful because of how intense the flames were before professional firefighters arrived.

“We can’t immediately quantify the extent of the damage caused by the devastating inferno, the cause of which is also yet to be ascertained presently,” Akindele said.

The management expressed gratitude to the locals, first responders, and Oyo State Fire Service officials for their assistance in putting out the fire.

The station went on to say, “We heartily appreciate everyone good-spirited Nigerians who joined us in fighting the inferno.”

Investigations into the cause of the fire are still ongoing, and as of press time, no casualties have been reported.
