Hon. Matthew Iduoriyekemwen, who served as the Director General of the Asue/Ogie Campaign Council during the Edo State gubernatorial election last year, has resigned from the PDP. He resigned a few days after warning the party not to run in the by-election scheduled for next month to fill the vacancies in the Ovia Federal Constituency and Edo Central senatorial districts.
In a letter dated July 17, 2025, to the PDP Chairman of the party’s Ward 5 Ikpoba-Okha local government area, Iduoriyekemwen stated that recent events at the state and national levels of the party were the reason for his resignation.
The former NDDC Commissioner stated that he intended to focus on his personal life and business, but he would not reveal his next political move.
“This is not a decision made out of anger or haste, but one rooted in deep reflection and a sincere desire to preserve my personal values and integrity,” the letter stated. “I sincerely thank the party leadership and all members of Ward 5, Ikpoba-Okha LGA,for their love and support over the years. I wish the PDP well in her future endeavours.”
