Aondona Dajoh, Speaker of the Benue State House of Assembly, has resigned. He submitted his resignation letter on August 24, 2025.
In the letter titled “Resignation as the Speaker, Benue State House of Assembly”, Dajoh said he acted in good faith. He explained the decision was in the best interest of the state and his colleagues.
“I write to resign my position as Speaker of the Benue State House of Assembly, effective today, August 24, 2025. This is done in good faith and in the best interest of the state. I appreciate my dear colleagues for the opportunity to serve as first among equals,” Dajoh stated.
He further pledged to remain dedicated to his duties as a legislator representing Gboko West Constituency.
As of now, the Assembly has not announced his successor. The development marks a major shift in Benue State politics.
