Benjamin Kalu, Deputy Speaker of the Federal House of Representatives, vowed that the APC will remove Alex Otti as Labour Party leader in Abia State during the 2027 general elections.

Kalu made the statement Sunday while meeting with his pro-groups, including the Ben Kalu Movement, Renewed Hope Partners, and more than 27 other groups supported by the Ben Kalu Foundation (BKF).

Kalu said, “We have come to take over, and there is no going back because we want to work with the president to move our state forward. It is about the love we have for our president. We are all gathering momentum for what will come in 2027. We are here to move the state and the federal government forward.

“The miracle worker is the President who releases money to the states. Up until now, the real miracle worker is the man who stopped oil subsidy and did not keep the money in his pocket or in a boot, but released it to the states. That is a right miracle worker.”

He added, “We have a journey in front. Recall that at the Aba stadium during the reception for the President after commissioning Port Harcourt Road, I said you (Otti) have not done enough. This administration might be my friend, the leader, but I am the opposition leader in the state, and as opposition leader, I must speak for the masses. You cannot compare N38-40 billion from Abuja to 5.6 billion past governors received and expect similar results. APC will take over Abia state so that funds from Abuja reach your ward. We will win through the vote of the masses.”

Kalu also encouraged party loyalists to obtain their party and voter cards. He highlighted that the President promised a seaport for the state and said his pro-group members would be empowered.

Key supporters, including Rev. Trump Eke, Charles Ogbonna, Emeka Stanley, Don Ubani, and Chikezie Mba, praised Kalu’s leadership and pledged support for his future political endeavors.
