Arsenal delivered a dominant 5-0 win over Leeds at the Emirates, with Viktor Gyokeres scoring twice to shine. Gyokeres, signed from Sporting Lisbon, scored once from open play and converted a late penalty, proving his Premier League quality.

The victory came at a cost. Bukayo Saka and captain Martin Odegaard left the field injured just days before Arsenal’s clash with Liverpool. Saka appeared to hurt his left leg, while Odegaard fell awkwardly on his shoulder.

Arsenal celebrated £60 million signing Eberechi Eze before kickoff, as the new recruit rejected a move to Tottenham. Jurrien Timber opened the scoring from a Declan Rice corner, and Saka doubled the lead with a blistering strike. Gyokeres added the third, and Timber bundled in a fourth from another corner. Fifteen-year-old Max Dowman made his Premier League debut and won a penalty that Gyokeres converted to complete the 5-0 rout.

With this win, Arsenal edged Tottenham at the top of the table and kept a perfect start to the season.

Meanwhile, Manchester City fell 2-0 to Tottenham at the Etihad. Brennan Johnson and Joao Palhinha scored just before halftime, giving Spurs maximum points after two games. City struggled defensively and lacked composure in attack.

Goalkeeper James Trafford endured a difficult match, allowing Palhinha’s rebound goal after an intercepted pass. Erling Haaland missed a header and overhit a chance to Rayan Cherki, leaving City unable to respond. Tottenham kept a clean sheet, highlighting City’s ongoing problems under pressure.
