APC’ll Be Foolish to Think Coalition Can’t Take Power – Analyst

A political analyst and governance advocate, Chima Nnaji, has warned that the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) may be overconfident in expecting to retain power in 2027, stressing the significance of the ADC coalition.

Speaking on Channels Television’s Sunrise Daily programme, Nnaji argued that the newly formed opposition coalition aligned with the African Democratic Congress (ADC) includes powerful political figures and should not be underestimated.

Nnaji stated that it would be “foolish” for APC leaders to ignore the coalition’s potential, noting that its membership features “powerful gladiators” with substantial influence across the country. He emphasised that dismissing their capacity to mobilise support and challenge APC dominance would be a strategic miscalculation.

Despite the ruling party’s control of the federal government, Nnaji believes that public sentiment, shifting alliances, and performance-based politics could tip the scales in the coalition’s favour. He cautioned APC strategists to avoid complacency and to prepare for fierce competition in the next general elections .
