The 2025 WASSCE results have been formally made public for school candidates by the West African Examinations Council (WAEC). As of Monday, August 4, applicants may now visit waecdirect.org to view their results.
“The West African Examinations Council is pleased to inform candidates who sat WASSCE for School Candidates, 2025 that the result has officially been released today, Monday, August 4, 2025” the statement said.
Compared to 2024, when 72.12% of applicants earned at least five credits, including English and math, just 38.32% (754,545) of the 1,969,313 candidates did so. The decrease was ascribed by WAEC to their new serialized objective test format, which decreased misconduct.
77.06% of the results were fully processed during the test, which took place between April 24 and June 20. Because to technological difficulties, about 22.94% are still being finished. Furthermore, exam misconduct resulted in the withholding of 9.75% of results (192,089).
WAEC advised that states that owe money will not be able to view the results of their candidates and cautioned against rogue actors that assist in cheating. Every one of the more than 12,000 applicants with special needs received sufficient assistance.
In important subject credits, females did somewhat better than males. Additionally, WAEC made a partial switch to computer-based testing this year; complete digitization is anticipated in 2026.
