Nigerian striker Victor Boniface will remain at Bayer Leverkusen as his AC Milan transfer faces medical complications.
Boniface underwent medical tests at Milan’s La Madonnina Clinic and Galeazzi Hospital over the past 48 hours. Following the results, the 24-year-old returned to Germany.
Reports link the delay to Boniface’s injury history, which includes two cruciate ligament tears at Bodø/Glimt in 2019 and recurring muscle issues. Milan has chosen a cautious approach before finalizing the move.
Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano confirmed Milan’s doubts. He said the club is dissatisfied with Boniface’s medical evaluations and expects higher fitness standards.
“After medical tests at AC Milan, Victor Boniface returns to Germany, as there’s still no green light to his move. After 48 hours in Milano, Boniface will be back in Leverkusen today, waiting for AC Milan’s decision on his medical checks,” Romano reported.
The agreement between Milan and Leverkusen includes a €5 million loan fee and a €24 million purchase option. Milan’s final decision on the Victor Boniface AC Milan transfer remains pending.
