Washington is working to put an end to the war in Ukraine, and U.S. President Donald Trump has stated that he plans to meet with Russian leader Vladimir Putin as early as next week.
The revelation was made by Mr. Trump during a phone conversation with European leaders on Wednesday, according to the New York Times. The individuals with knowledge of the situation also stated that the politician intends to meet with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky following the call.

Mr. Trump said on his Truth Social account, “Afterwards I updated some of our European Allies” “Everyone agrees this War must come to a close, and we will work towards that in the days and weeks to come. Thank you for your attention to this matter!.”
During the phone call, Mr. Witkoff, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Vice President JD Vance, and NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte were all present.
The Trump administration raised duties on Indian goods to 50% on Thursday due to the country’s ongoing purchases of Russian petroleum products, as part of attempts to negotiate a ceasefire in Ukraine.
