US President Donald Trump has issued a final warning to Hamas, urging the Palestinian group controlling Gaza to accept his peace terms with Israel.
Trump announced on Truth Social,Sunday, that Israel had already accepted his Hamas peace deal. He said Hamas now carried the responsibility to act, stressing that “everyone wants the hostages home” and “everyone wants this war to end.”
“The Israelis have accepted my terms. It is time for Hamas to accept as well. This is my last warning, there will not be another one,” Trump declared.
Trump has increasingly presented himself as a mediator in the conflict. He argued that he must step in to bring both sides to the negotiating table. His remarks follow weeks of Israeli strikes on Gaza after Hamas’ October 7 attack and stalled Egypt, Qatar, US talks.
In July, Trump announced that Israel and Hamas had reached a 60-day ceasefire agreement. On Sunday, he said Egypt and Qatar would deliver his “final proposal” to Hamas, urging the group to accept.
“I hope, for the good of the Middle East, that Hamas takes this deal, because it will not get better ; IT WILL ONLY GET WORSE,” Trump wrote.
The peace deal already faces challenges. Israel’s March airstrike in Gaza killed over 300 people and disrupted January’s ceasefire agreement.
