Actress and politician Tonto Dikeh has opened up about her spiritual transformation, crediting the Holy Spirit for healing her from long-standing emotional and personal struggles.
On Tuesday, Dikeh shared her redemption story on Instagram, revealing how she overcame anger and what she called “sexual immorality” through faith and discipline.
The 40-year-old described her decision to embrace celibacy as a source of strength and clarity rather than repression.
“The discipline became a cornerstone for spiritual clarity,” she wrote. “It helped me hear God more clearly and manage my emotions wisely.”
Dikeh emphasized that celibacy has been one of the most empowering experiences of her life.
“God delivered me completely. Celibacy has been one of the most powerful experiences of my life,” she said.
“It is not suppression; it is strength. I trained my heart to reject intimacy without love because true love is patient and holy. Now I hear God more clearly.”
She revealed that her faith also healed her from uncontrolled anger that once dominated her life.
“Jesus healed me from a rage that once ruled my life,” Dikeh confessed. “I used to have a fuse so short it could ignite a storm. My anger was not power; it was pain disguised as control.”
Tonto Dikeh added that her turning point came when she broke down and surrendered her emotions to God.
“One day, I cried out like a child. I was tired of being ruled by my emotions. And El-Roi, the God who sees me, saw me. He didn’t condemn me. He covered me with mercy and healed me completely.”
