President Bola Tinubu has congratulated former Vice President Namadi Sambo on his turbaning as the Sardaunan Zazzau, scheduled for Saturday. His Royal Highness Alhaji Ahmed Nuhu Bamalli, the Emir of Zazzau, will perform the ceremony.
In a Friday statement, Bayo Onanuga, Tinubu’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, said the title honors Sambo’s integrity, wisdom, and lifelong dedication to public service.
“The title of Sardaunan Zazzau, a position of great cultural and historical significance in Northern Nigeria, reflects the Emirate’s confidence in the former Vice President’s wisdom, integrity, and commitment to society’s progress,” President Tinubu stated.
Tinubu described Namadi Sambo’s Sardaunan Zazzau investiture as a recognition of his “exemplary leadership and contributions to national development.” He added that the title “underscores his deep-rooted service to his community and the nation.”
The President praised Sambo’s humility and statesmanship, highlighting his devotion to humanity. He praised Emir Bamalli for honoring leaders whose character, patriotism, and integrity reflect the Emirate’s values and unity.
Tinubu urged Sambo to continue promoting peace and unity across Nigeria. “In order to promote peace and progress in our nation, I urge the Sardaunan Zazzau to keep inspiring and guiding the younger generation, and to work closely with traditional and community leaders,” he said.
