President Tinubu has come under fire from Peter Obi for his plans to leave Nigeria today, August 14, for Brazil and Japan. Obi claimed that the President’s trip at a time when Nigeria is facing increasing security and economic difficulties is insensitive in a statement posted on his X handle.
Obi urged him to concentrate more on visiting troubled states and directly addressing the concerns of the populace, claiming that the President’s frequent international trips demonstrated “indifference” to the nation’s urgent issues.
He emphasized that the president is the head of state of a nation that is experiencing problems, not a tourist.
The Presidency announced the itinerary on Wednesday, and Tinubu is expected to leave Abuja on Thursday, August 14, for a two-nation tour that will include a stop in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, before continuing on to Japan.

”Again our President moves as the Nation bleeds,
“Amid the deplorable state of our nation in all ramifications, we have a virtually indifferent President who has continued to display insensitivity to our situation.
“How can anyone explain that a President who came from Brazil recently and met with the President is returning to the same country, leaving the various degrees of challenges at home unresolved?
“The latest itinerary of the President shows he will depart Abuja on Thursday, August 14, for a two-nation trip to Japan and Brazil.
“The President will stop over in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, before proceeding to Japan.
