President Bola Tinubu left Yokohama, Japan, on Thursday night for Brazil, where he will begin a state visit on August 24.
According to a statement from Bayo Onanuga, Tinubu’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, the President will first stop in Los Angeles before traveling to Brasília, the capital of Brazil.
Tinubu had departed Abuja on August 15, making a brief stop in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, before arriving in Yokohama on August 18.
While in Japan, he held bilateral meetings, participated in the opening ceremony and plenary of the Ninth Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD9) on August 20, and concluded the trip with an interactive session with the Nigerian community on Thursday night.
During the meeting, the President urged Nigerians living abroad to contribute their knowledge and resources to the development and stability of their home country. He emphasized that all citizens must share responsibility for national progress, not rely solely on the government.
