Chukwuma Soludo, candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), maintains a strong lead in the Anambra State governorship election, winning across 19 local government areas announced so far.
After counting concluded in most polling stations, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) began compiling results at its headquarters in Awka, the state capital.
From the 19 declared LGAs, APGA secured 389,789 votes, while the All Progressives Congress (APC) trailed with 91,592 votes. The Labour Party followed with 10,366 votes, and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) managed 1,230 votes.
With only two local government areas remaining, Soludo leads Anambra governorship election comfortably and appears on track for a second term victory. INEC’s State Returning Officer at the Awka headquarters continues overseeing the collation process and will declare results from all 21 LGAs once they are ready.
