Soludo election victory has been officially confirmed by INEC following the November 8 governorship poll.
Governor Chukwuma Soludo secured reelection in Anambra State with 422,664 votes. The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) announced the result on Sunday.
Prof. Edogah Omoregie, the returning officer and vice chancellor of the University of Benin, made the declaration at INEC’s Awka office.
Soludo ran under the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) and defeated four other candidates. Prince Nicholas Ukachukwu of the All Progressives Congress (APC) came second with 99,445 votes.
Paul Chukwuma of the Young Progressives Party (YPP) received 37,753 votes. George Moghalu of the Labour Party earned 10,576 votes. John Nwosu, representing the African Democratic Congress (ADC), got 8,208 votes.
