President Bola Tinubu on Friday welcomed Julius Maada Bio, the President of Sierra Leone, at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.
The visit to Nigeria included a ceremonial reception hosted by President Tinubu at the nation’s capital. Bio, who also serves as the Chairman of ECOWAS, was honored upon arrival at the Villa.
In a post on his X account, President Bio shared details about his visit. He stated that he traveled to Nigeria to deliver a speech at Baze University’s 12th Convocation and engage with African business leaders.
“This evening, I arrived in Abuja to speak at Baze University’s 12th Convocation and discuss with top African business leaders there. Looking forward to productive engagement,” he wrote.
The visit is expected to strengthen ties between Nigeria and Sierra Leone while promoting regional cooperation under ECOWAS.
